Hey, everybody--sorry it's been so long since I contributed. I feel a lot like our friend Dan, who says he doesn't like to say anything unless he's got something to say. I don't want to come in here and just type for the sake of typing--I want it to be actually of interest to someone. (I know, I know, you're thinking, "But she's not like that when I'm talking to her!") Anyway, I wanted to put my two-cents-worth in about Wednesday night. I also thought it was a very good time, and a good talk. I was a little worried there at first, though, Robert. I thought for a minute there that you were gonna go all "fire and brimstone" on us, hangin' out in the OT and all. It was good, though. I've been doing a lot of meditating lately, as most of you who read this know, on prioritizing my life and getting rid of the "deadwood"; those activities and things that are in my way, physically and emotionally and spiritually and every other -ly. Knowing which things we are doing "for God" are actually important and pleasing to Him is a key to contentment, I think.

I also wanted to share a little something with you all that I ran across in the Lexington Herald-Leader, of all places. Last Sunday's paper had a section about Father's Day and several letters from fathers to their children, advice for their lives and such. One of the better ones included a poem that I thought was really cool, so I wanted to share it with everyone. It's titled, "My Symphony", by William Henry Channing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

"MY SYMPHONY"

"To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich. To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never.

"In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony."

Isn't that cool? I also wanted to let everyone know that I have applied for a new position within my company with a little more money and responsibility, and it's looking really good for me to get it. In fact, I was told by my supervisor that I am the person they actually had in mind for the job, but it was policy that they had to post it and announce it for everyone to have a chance to apply. So if you all would keep this in prayer, that I would get the position if it's what God wants for me (if He wants something better, I'll take that instead :)) Also that if I do get the job, I'll be given the grace to handle the apparently intensive training that goes along with it. Thanks!

P.S.: Also please keep in prayer my uncle, whom I've mentioned before--he's back in the hospital and apparently not doing all that great. I know God's in control--God, help all the other family members (and Kenneth himself) to know that, also.
